A Productive Day
Update on my driver problem: solved. I found out that I had forgotten to uninstall the drivers from my old tablet with the result that it was unable to get along with the new ones. I’m very relieved it was nothing more serious than that.
Moving right along…
I finished making the banner my good friend Nate requested for his blog (see above). To view it at full size, check out his blog here. Alternatively, you can also click on the thumbnail above.
Ongoing projects: helping my good friend Ken revamp his website.

Vector Practice
The drivers for my tablet mysteriously stopped working this morning (they were fine last night) and so now I’m forced to use my mouse again until I find out what’s going on.
Despite the inconvenience and awkwardness of using the mouse, I did manage to get a practice piece done.
Et voilà.

This Big Kid’s Got New Crayons

Illustration Friday: Dip

I had a lot of fun working on these two drawings. Why? Because once more, I felt like a kid with her favorite coloring book and fresh box of crayons. Only this time, the crayons are digital.
For these two, I spent most of the day sketching out the ideas that had been percolating in my head ever since I saw what this week’s word at Illustration Friday was going to be. I refined the rough drawings I made (just a tad), scanned them, then added layers of photographic textures and art media, which I then manipulated until I achieved the effect I wanted.

Day of the Bunny
Scanned datebook page, manipulated layers containing photographic textures, art media layer with digital painting. I wanted this to look rough, worn, and stained. I also wanted an oblique reference to the Easter Bunny (without resorting to the stereotype) that would also double as an “under construction” notice.
